LEWISTON – Mildred B. Dixon 87, a resident of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, formerly of Auburn, died early Wednesday, Sept. 24, at St. Marguerite d’youville Pavilion, after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, June 16, 1921, the daughter of James R. and Sarah (Scott) Roix.

She was a housewife most of her life who enjoyed knitting and making afghans as well as fishing in her younger days.

Survivors in include one son, Robert C. Dixon and his wife, Lorraine, of Lewiston; two daughters, Mildred Leavitt of Poland and Patricia Lee Gagne and her husband, Andrew Jr., of Old Orchard Beach; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Sylvanus Dixon died Aug. 25, 1996.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Sandra Swain on May 18, 1999.
