LEWISTON – A funeral Mass celebrating the life of Robert G. Gelinas was held on Wednesday at Holy Cross Church, after prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph E. Daniels celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. At the beginning of Mass, the pall and Christian symbols were placed on Robert’s casket by Lucille, Roger, Richard and Roland Gelinas. During Mass the first reading was done by Cecile Doyon. The responsorial Psalm was done by Stephanie Gelinas. The second reading was done by Priscille Allard and prayers of the faithful was read by Rita Carroll. The offertory was brought to the altar by Lorrie and Abigail Potvin. Words of remembrance were expressed by Gerry Gelinas. Military honors from the U.S. Army played “taps” and presented our country’s flag to Robert’s wife, Lucille Gelinas, after the committal prayers. Pallbearers were Jeffrey Marquis, Matt Wheeler, John Potvin, Jeff Olivier, Anthony Gelinas, Gaetan Marquis, Patricia Gelinas and Stephen Kenerson. A reception of fellowship was held at the Ramada Inn after the services at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
