WILTON – Ruth P. Webster, 73, of Wilton, died Thursday, Sept. 25, at home with her loving family by her side. She left this world peacefully after a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Smith Crossing at home, on Aug. 8, 1935, to Arthur and Alice (Harlow) Floyd. She married Louis E. Webster Sr. on March 13, 1954. She raised her children in Wilton and was employed with Forster’s Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of the Amvets Auxiliary in Jay.

She raised her family with her husband Louis at their home on the Weld Road, where they resided for more than 41 years. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends enjoying birthday parties, holiday parties, softball games, barbeques and shopping. She is well known for her love of beano and could be found playing at the Amvets in Jay most Sundays and the Farmington Fair every year.

She loved her flower garden and feeding her birds, looking forward to spring returns. She was also an avid NASCAR fan and Jeff Gordon was her favorite driver. She enjoyed word puzzles, game shows, and the Red Sox. She will be missed by all who knew her for her kind spirit and smiling face.

She is survived by her seven children, Louis Webster Jr. and his wife, Erika, MaryAnn Littlefield and her husband, Kenneth, Robert Webster, Bruce Webster and his companion, Susan Moras, Mark Webster and his wife, Jill, John Webster and his fiancé, Tammy McGowan and Joyce Webster; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Elissa and Isabella Webster, Amy Littlefield, Michael Slovak, Angela Whelpley, Ryan Webster, Kaitlyn and Kelsey Webster, Kimberly and Devon Webster; her great-grandchildren, Sage Webster and Levi Merchant; and her siblings, Gertude Peabody and Donald Floyd and his wife, Claudette.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Webster Sr.; mother, Alice Harlow Floyd; father, Arthur Floyd; brothers Arthur (Buddy) Floyd and Harlow (Joe) Floyd; and sister, Sheila McKay.

The family would like to express a special thank-you to the oncology nursing staff at Central Maine Medical Center, and, a very special thank-you to daughter-in-law Erika Webster for her support and knowledge during Ruth’s last days with us.
