AUBURN – Arlene L. Dehetre, 85, of Poland Road, Auburn, and formerly of Lisbon Falls, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 26, at Clover Manor with her son Randy at her bedside.

She was born in Lisbon Falls on Aug. 9, 1923, a daughter of Alden L. and Mildred (Tyler) Littlefield. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Lisbon Falls High School and from ACME Business College in Lewiston. Following her schooling, she was employed for several years doing secretarial work for local businesses.

Later on in life, she worked at Grant’s Bakery for 22 years until her retirement in 1988.

On June 27, 1952, she married Philip R. Dehetre who died in August 1973.

She had attended United Methodist Church in Lisbon Falls and among her favorite enjoyments in earlier years was doing crafts, especially crocheting and counter cross stitching. She had also made some braided and latch-hook rugs.

She leaves her son, Randall P. Dehetre, of Auburn, who was devoted to providing loving and wonderful care of her for the last several years; two brothers-in-law, Richard Dehetre, and Laurier Dehetre and his wife, Lorraine, of Lewiston; two sisters-in-law, Janice Connors and her husband, Robert, and Lucille Dehetre, also of Lewiston; a nephew, Alden Littlefield of Vermont; and four nieces, Brenda Moss and husband David of Lisbon, Ann Dehetre-Arsenault and husband Peter, Maureen Poussard and husband Harvey, and Eileen Belleau and husband Stephen, all of Lewiston; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Lucille Mullen; and by a brother, Lawrence Littlefield.

Her son would like to thank the entire staff of Clover Manor for the exceptional and loving care she received from them over the last five years.
