I am writing this letter in support of Paul Gilbert for House District 87, which includes Chesterville, Jay, Mercer, New Sharon and Starks.

He has worked in both the public and private sector and has been active in his community, serving in many capacities – Jay School Committee, Jay Board of Selectmen, the planning board and budget committee, plus doing much volunteer work, such as helping people with free income tax assistance. He has also served on the Maine Council of Senior Citizens, the Friends Together board, and worked as a job service manager for the state of Maine for more than 30 years.

I’ve known him for many years and have worked with him on various projects. He is always conscientious, competent, knowledgeable and thorough.

I am hoping that voters in House District 87 will help the state’s future by electing Paul Gilbert to the Legislature.
