LEWISTON – Openings are available in Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care’s Pre-School and Child Care classrooms. Children have left the program to begin kindergarten, allowing for new 3- and 4-year-olds with families who are living or working in Androscoggin County to attend.

Head Start is accepting applications for children with parents or guardians who are employed, continuing their education or receiving job training 30 or more hours a week. Full-day, full-year centers are located in Lewiston and Auburn.

Those who have previously applied to the program should contact the enrollment office to update information. Those who have never applied should contact the office at 795-4040 to schedule an appointment.

Fees for full-day pre-school and child are program are low and are based on monthly gross income and family size. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included. Children receive medical and dental screenings, and special services are available if required. Classrooms open at approximately 6:30 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
