WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Kenneth Winter Kaynor, 88, died on Sept. 16.
He was born in Springfield, Mass., on Jan. 25, 1920, the fourth of six children of the late William Kirk Kaynor and Alice Chapin (Reed) Kaynor.
He married the love of his life, Doris (Debbie) Bower, in 1946. Ken attended the Darrow School and Springfield College. He served as a pilot in World War II. He taught mathematics, worked as a computer analyst and served on many church and civic boards.
He enjoyed gardening, barbershop quartet singing, music, fishing and spending time in Harpswell and Rangeley.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Kaynor of West Hartford, Conn.; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert and Sue Kaynor of Durham, N.C., Mark and Julie Kaynor of Blacksburg, Va., and Peter and Sandra Kaynor of Peru; grandson, Jeseph; and great-granddaughter, Tiger Lily of Wilmington, N.C.; many four-legged grandpets; and numerous friends and relatives.
