LEWISTON – Brother Irenee Richard, OP, will be the guest speaker of the Saints Peter and Paul Society on Sunday, Oct. 5, at the first breakfast meeting of the fall season. Richard’s topic will be “Journey to the Diaconate.” He is pursuing studies through the Loyola Institute for Ministry Extension Program of Loyola University in New Orleans in preparation for ordination as a permanent deacon in the Roman Catholic Church.

He entered the Order of Preachers in 1962 and pronounced his solemn vows in March of 1970. In 1991, he founded St. Martin de Porres Residence for Homeless Men and Women and is its executive director. He is a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. and held in the Dominican Conference Room. The business meeting will follow his presentation.
