LEWISTON – A news anchor with CNN in Atlanta sought a restraining order against a Lewiston man who claimed her body language on television told him to travel to Atlanta to meet her in person, an Atlanta newspaper reported Monday.

Robin Meade, an anchor for cable network’s affiliate Headline News, was advised by Atlanta police to seek a restraining order against Gregory Fitzgerald, 32, of Lewiston, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Meade hosts the network’s morning show, “Morning Express with Robin Meade.”

Police did not arrest Fitzgerald, but did serve him with a restraining order on his way home to Lewiston, according to the news report. The newspaper reported that a CNN security official reported Fitzgerald to authorities on Sept. 17, after he showed up in person outside CNN’s Atlanta headquarters the day before. He allegedly e-mailed Meade more than 30 times since November 2007, according to CNN.

Fitzgerald’s stepfather, Paul Stufflebeam, told the Journal-Constitution that the family spoke with their mentally disabled son about the incident and intended to seek professional help for him.
