PORTLAND (AP) – The price of diesel fuel has fallen below $4 a gallon in Maine.
According to AAA, a gallon of diesel fuel was averaging $3.98 a gallon on Monday. That’s 34 cents cheaper than a month ago and 82 cents lower than the peak of $4.90 a gallon in July, but it’s still 84 cents higher than a year ago.
Regular gasoline in Maine is now averaging $3.59 a gallon.
AAA says that’s a dime cheaper than a month ago and five cents below the national average.
