FARMINGTON – Ronald Marquis Neil, 92, of Strong died Sunday, Sept. 28, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 18, 1916, in Weld, the son of Marquis Ransted and Nellie J. (Vining) Neil. He was educated in the schools of Wilton and Strong graduating in 1937. He worked at Forster Manufacturing until he retired in 1979.

He was a member of the Mt. Blue Lodge 67 A.F. & A.M. (former member of Davis Lodge), and the Strong United Methodist Church. He made his home in Strong since 1929. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and lived for his little dog Sassie.

He is survived by his daughter, Judith Penney and her husband, Clyde, of New Vineyard; his son, Paul Neil and his wife, Linda, of Strong; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Brackley; a brother, Clifford Neil; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Lambert, Beverly Walker and Linda Purdue; and two stepsons, Lewis Damon and C. Arthur Allen.

He was predeceased by his wives, Mary Stevens and Edith Gifford; a great-great-grandson; and his brother, Richard.
