Jean Raymond, who has lived all her life in Lewiston-Auburn, has released a children’s book that evolved from an idea to write something her seven grandchildren could include in their scrapbooks.
“Little Blue Whistle,” published by Authorhouse, is about Little Blue Whistle who lives with Sadie, a great lady; Olsen, the dog; and Fluffball, the cat. One day, he experiences an adventure he’ll never forget.
After family members and friends read the story, her nephew, Ted Searles, offered to draw illustrations for a book, Raymond said.
Raymond attended Auburn schools and graduated from Mansfield Beauty Academy. Now retired from hairdressing, she baby-sits her youngest grandchild, Reagan. The mother of two daughters, Kelley and Norma, and a son, Bruce, Raymond enjoys doing arts and crafts for family and friends in her spare time.
“Little Blue Whistle” may be ordered for $6.40 at www.Authorhouse.com.
