AUGUSTA (AP) – Mainers will soon have a new specialty license plate they can put on their cars.
Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap says the new plate to benefit breast cancer research will be available beginning Wednesday.
Revenue generated by sales of the plate will go the Breast Cancer Services Special Program Fund. From there, the proceeds will be split equally among the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition, the Maine Cancer Foundation and the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program.
The plate features pink numbers, a pink ribbon and the words “early detection saves lives.”
