Guild guests
PARIS – The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., Paris. Guests will be from Knitter’s Korner, who will bring new ideas and some products.
Blood drive
MECHANIC FALLS – An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 90 Lewiston St.
Cemetery meeting
NORTH WATERFORD – Woodlawn Cemetery annual fall meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at North Waterford Congregational Church, Five Kezars Road, off Routes 35 and 37.
Seniors luncheon
BETHEL – Bethel Senior Citizens will hold a meeting and luncheon at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Pleasant Valley Grange Hall 136, Main Street, Route 2. The speaker will be from the Maine Conservation School in Bryant Pond.
Blood drive
BRIDGTON – An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Bridgton Academy, Route 37.
Cooking class
NORWAY – A vegetarian cooking class will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Taste of Eden, 238 Main St. There will be four classes in all, held on Thursdays. The cost is $10 a class or $35 for four. Call 739-6090 for more information or to sign up.
4-H enrollment
PARIS – The 2008 4-H year is closing and open enrollment has started. Existing members and leaders will need to complete new enrollment forms before Jan. 1.
Those interested in enrolling in 4-H for the coming year should contact Susan Jennings at the Oxford County Extension Office, 9 Olson Road, Paris, or call 743-6329 to find out how to get involved.
Four-H is a hands-on project-based program designed to engage students in enrichment activities and is part of the Youth Development Program for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.
