LEWISTON – Lorraine D. Legendre, 87, of 111 South Ave., died Thursday, Sept. 25, at her home, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, on Feb. 7, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph and Aurore (Gagnon) Theriault. She attended St. Mary’s Grammar School, graduated from Lewiston High School in 1939, and attended Acme Business School, where she met her future husband, John. They were married at St. Mary’s Church on Oct. 4, 1943. He passed away on Aug. 16, 2006.

She spent many wonderful years at the family camp on Thompson Lake with John, her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She became the unofficial family historian for her ability to remember names, dates and events. She will be remembered for her gentle nature and devotion to her family. We will miss her. In leaving us, she goes to walk hand in hand with John.

She leaves her two sons and daughters-in law, Paul R. Legendre and his wife, Anne, of Lewiston and Roland E. Legendre and his wife, Diane, of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Thomas Legendre and his wife, Dr. Allyson Stack, of Edinburgh, Scotland, Dr. Susan Ropacki and her husband, Dr. Michael Ropacki, of Temecula, Calif., Sherrie Thomas and her husband, Robert, of Rutland, Mass., and Steven Legendre and his companion, Anne Elliot, of Attleboro, Mass.; great-grandchildren, Nicole Legendre Stack and Callum Legendre, Lauren and Brianna Ropacki, and Zachary and Alyssa Thomas; brother-in-law, Raymond A.
