LEWISTON – Robert Malcolm Heath, 77, of West Peru, died Oct. 1, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in West Paris, on Feb. 24, 1931, and attended West Paris and Woodstock schools and was a Navy veteran Machinist Mate II of the Korean War. He had been a member of the IBEW Local 484 and 1837 and had worked for Central Maine Power Co. as a lineman for 36 years and was a member of the CMP Old Timers Club.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 24 and VFW Post 1641, both of Rumford, as well as the LaPeriex Club of Rumford. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping and doing home improvements; was an avid outdoorsman and was a faithful fan of the Boston Red Sox.
He was involved with the formation of the Peru Snowmobile Club years ago, and was active with several town committees. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeanette (Bernard) Heath of West Peru; two sons, Jim Taylor Sr. of Oxford and Peter Heath of West Peru and Woodstock, and his companion, Carey Sylvester; daughters, Heidi Heath and her partner, Rick Burgess, of Mexico and Roben Dolloff and her husband, Barry, of Peru; one brother, Herbert Ryerson of West Paris; two sisters, Dottie Heath of Bryant Pond and Frances Noyes of West Paris; six grandchildren, Kathryn Dube of Brunswick, Michael Dube II of Rumford, Heather Burgess of Norway, Rick Burgess of Mexico, Amy Burgess of Mexico and James Taylor Jr. of Norfolk, Va.; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a wife, Helen June (Appleby) Heath in 1972; one daughter, Debra Dube in 1992; two brothers, Robert Bean and Herbert Bean; and one sister, Evelyn Mason.
