AUBURN – Community Little Theatre will conduct a stage management workshop taught by Hope Rose Kelly, a professional stage manager and member of the Actors’ Equity Association and Stage Managers’ Association, on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Kelly has stage managed productions for theaters in Boston, Lewiston’s Public Theatre and Shakespeare and Company in the Berkshires of Massachusetts.
A well-run live performance is due largely to the organizational efforts of the stage manager, who orchestrates the performance’s transition of technical elements from sound and light cues, to special effects, to scenic changes.
The workshop is an opportunity for an introduction to stage management or to learn new tricks of the trade. Participants will learn production organization techniques, how to create prompt scripts, various production documentations and balancing production team dynamics. There will also be an opportunity to ask Kelly questions about her experiences and other aspects of stage management.
The workshop is open to the public. The fee is $5 for CLT members and $15 for non-members, with $10 going toward a CLT membership fee if the participant chooses.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on the top floor of the Great Falls Performing Arts Center, 30 Academy St., Auburn.
