FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington staff have been trained to administer professional licensing exams for surgical assisting, social work, athletic training, foreign service exams and trades such as automotive repair technicians and plumbers
UMF’s Center for Human Development recently was certified as one of two ACT professional licensing test centers in Maine. The other ACT test center in Maine is located at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor.
The tests at UMF will be offered one and a half days a week and one Saturday a month, said Cynthia Kemble, UMF assistant director of testing services. Tests will be given at the UMF Franklin Academic Success Center at 252 Main St.
“We administer the exam but the candidate registers online with the ACT Center, then we get the data and give the test,” she said.
To register, go to www.act.org. For a list of services, fees and hours for UMF’s Center for Human Development, contact Kemble at 778-7666 or visit chd.umf.maine.edu.
