CHESTERVILLE – Voters at a special town meeting agreed to buy a 2004 plow truck and spend the amount needed to repair three sections of the town hall roof, Town Clerk Patricia Gordon said.

The 2004 GMC truck comes equipped with a wing, plow and stainless steel sander, Road Foreman Patrick McHugh said. It will replace a 1990 International that was getting to be as expensive to maintain as purchasing the second-hand vehicle, he said.

The GMC truck will cost $70,000, with $25,000 coming from the equipment reserve account and $45,000 from the general fund.

The town hall roof will cost $1,000, coming from the general fund.
