LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls Women’s Club met at LaFleur’s on Sept. 25 when new officers were installed for a two-year period.
Installation ceremony was conducted by Roberta Merrill, president of the Westbrook Women’s Club. New officers include Gail Slade and Lucille Lavoie, co-presidents; Jackie Deshaies, vice president; Linda O’Brien, secretary; and Barbara Letalien, treasurer.
During the last term, President Lavoie adopted the Livermore Public Library as a special project. A “Pennies for Penny” campaign was started, and at the meeting a donation of several jars of pennies and other money was given to Penny Brown, librarian. Once counted at Otis FCU, the amount totaled $422.96. The campaign will continue during the next administration.
The next session of the club will be a membership meeting on Thursday, Oct. 30, at the North Livermore Baptist Church. The goal is to enlist four new members. Anyone wishing to join should attend. For information call Slade at 897-2158 or Lavoie at 897-5106.
