AUBURN – Central Maine Community College President Scott Knapp announces the following staff appointments:

Sandy MacDonald, corporate training coordinator, Corporate and Community Services. A native of Levittown, N.Y., who now lives in Gray, MacDonald holds a bachelor’s degree in business from St. Joseph’s College in Standish. She worked in the banking industry for more than 30 years, most recently with TD Banknorth, where she served as a group manager for special retail projects.

Sara Martin, resident director. A native of Strong who graduated from Mt. Abram High School, Martin also attended Springfield College in Massachusetts. She earned her bachelor’s degree in community health education at the University of Maine, Farmington. She taught science at Strong Elementary and worked most recently at a summer camp in Pennsylvania. She will also be assisting the athletic director at CMCC.

Nancy Whitaker, secretary, Corporate and Community Services. Whitaker accepted a permanent appointment this summer after having worked at the college on a temporary basis for almost a year. She grew up in Vermont and earned her bachelor of arts degree in art at Trinity College in Burlington. She lives in Greene and worked previously for Maine Public Broadcasting and the Center for Educational Services.

Diane Wright, senior office assistant, Academic Affairs. A Lewiston native who now lives in Poland, Wright was employed most recently at Poland Regional High School. She worked previously at Liberty Mutual for more than 20 years. She also works part time in the pharmacy at Hannaford’s in Auburn. In her new position, she is also providing support to the nursing department.
