NEW GLOUCESTER – Stephen J. Gagnon, 48, of Black Point Road, Sabbathday Lake, New Gloucester, died suddenly at his home Wednesday, Oct. 1.
He was born in Lewiston, on Feb. 19, 1960, the son of Ruth (Robinson) Gagnon and the late Donald T. Gagnon. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1978, and graduated in 1981 from the University of Southern Maine in Portland with a business degree.
Steve worked for Anderson Little Clothing Store, Snow’s Tire and Appliance Stores, Parker Tilton Food Brokers, R.J. Reynolds Co. and as a self-employed painter.
He was a longtime devoted member of the Eagles Club FOE 4131 in New Gloucester.
He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and loved his cats and dogs.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth Gagnon of Lewiston; sister, Cheri-Lynn Forrest and her friend, Bill Hunt, of Lewiston; nephew, John L. Forrest III of San Diego, Calif.; niece, Beth L. St. Laurent and husband, Derrick, of Lewiston; aunt, Eleanor Gagnon of Auburn; his cousins, Mark B. Cummings, Harland Gagnon and wife, Jackie, Dale Gagnon, Sherie Wilcox and husband, Rick, David Gagnon, Butch Gagnon and Shona Gagnon; and his former wife, Suzanne Skinner.
He was predeceased by his father; grandparents, John and Althea Robinson and Simion and Eva Joly; aunt, Helen R. Cummings and husband, Arthur; cousin, A. Scott Cummings; and brother-in-law, John L. Forrest Jr.
