LEWISTON – Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District has canceled the Farm Energy Conservation Social.

A farm energy conservation workshop at the USDA Service Center, 254 Goddard Road, for $10 a person, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23.

Preregistration and payment must be submitted by Friday, Oct. 17, to Androscoggin Valley SWCD, P.O. Box 1938, Lewiston, ME 04241. Those wishing to preregister and make payment on line may go to www.androscogginswcd.net on the workshop page or drop by the office.

Ron Desrosier, with Time and Tide Resource Conservation and Development and AJ Ballard Farm Energy Audit Consultant for Efficiency Maine, will give presentations covering topics such as farm energy audits, reduction of energy consumption and financial programs.

USDA Rural Development, Farm Service Agency and Natural Resources Conservation Service will provide information about financial programs available.
