FARMINGTON – The September meeting of Farmington Emblem Club 460 began with a potluck supper at 6 p.m.
President Sylvia Richards opened the meeting at 7 with 26 members present, 59 absent and two excused for a total of 87.
The Farmington Fair was discussed and a plan made for a flag-folding during the fair. The standing rules were discussed and accepted. Americanism Chairwoman Mabel Cox gave a reading.
Committees gave their reports from the summer. Rebecca Powell reported on the yard sales held, and Kristal Lloyd gave a report on the results of the Father’s Day breakfast in June.
The club decided to hold one club-sponsored craft fair this Christmas season the first Saturday in December. Debbie Holt will chair the event.
A club-sponsored dance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, with music by the Legends. Tickets are $20 a couple and are available from Emblem Club members. The club will sponsor a blood drive at Franklin Memorial Hospital on Monday, Oct. 13. Judy Lane won the raffle for the mystery gift and Doris Drake the 50-50 raffle.
At the close of meeting Richards gave a report on her trip to the national convention held in Las Vegas in September. Also attending were Shannon Smith, Christine Greenleaf and Avis Mahoney.
