SCARBOROUGH – Hilda M. Parent, 94, formerly of Lewiston and Auburn died peacefully early Friday, Oct. 3, at the Southern Maine Hospice House with her family by her side.

She was born in Bangor, Dec. 17, 1913, the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth (Asselin) Pelshaw. She attended Bangor and Auburn schools, and had been employed as a sales clerk at the former Ward’s Department Store for more than 20 years.

She was a member of Holy Family Church most of her life.

Survivors include one daughter, Taffy Parent of Saco; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Armand R. Parent June 12, 1994; two daughters, Connie Theriault and Linda Guay; and two sisters, Evelyn Tardiff and Alice Morin.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Southern Maine Hospice for the wonderful care they provided during Hilda’s final days.
