AUBURN – Irene E. Brown, 64, of Valview Drive, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born in Brunswick, March 13, 1944, the daughter of Adelbert and Leoline Moody Richardson. She was educated in Harpswell schools and was married to Lewis F. “Fred” Brown.
She had been employed at Eastland Shoe and Lawrence Shoe and she and her husband owned and operated Chicken City in New Auburn for seven years.
At the time of her death, she had been employed at Dingley Press the past nine years.
She enjoyed cooking, making and decorating cakes, ceramics and gem stone cutting. Her first concern was always the people around her. She cared for her grandchildren and had cared for her elderly mother the past five years.
She was known as “Maimmy” to all who knew her and will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all as “Maimmy.”
She is survived by her husband of Auburn; two sons, Wallace Brown and his wife, Kathy, of Auburn and Carl Brown and his wife, Trish, of Minot; her father, Adelbert Richardson and his companion, Anita Violet, of Harpswell; her mother, Leoline Morgan of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Ricky, Lauren and McCoy Brown, Keegan and Kaile Leighton; a sister, Debbie Viens and her husband, Brian, of Augusta; four brothers, Rodney Richardson of Brunswick, Adelbert “Squeak” Richardson and his wife, Gail, of Brunswick, Nye Richardson of Bailey Island and Greg Tisdale and his wife, Jenny, of Harpswell; a sister-in-law, Carlene Pare and her husband, Gerry, of Poland; a brother-in-law, Gordon “Bucky” Brown of Alaska; and nieces and nephews.
