PORTLAND (AP) – The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says police have arrested three people and seized nine ounces of cocaine, cash, and a handgun and Taser in Portland.
Drug agents say the three were arrested early Thursday following surveillance of a drug transaction and a search of an apartment in Portland. Facing charges are 30-year-old Neal Higgins of Bangor, 52-year-old Joanne Munce of Bar Harbor and 25-year-old Sue Beeler of Portland.
Drug agents found the Taser in Beeler’s car and when they went to her apartment they found three children from ages 1 to 5 home alone.
In addition to cocaine, cash and weapons, agents seized Beeler’s 1999 VW Passat and Munce’s 2008 Toyota Scion. Agents will seek criminal forfeiture of the vehicles.
