OES visitation
AUBURN – Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday Oct. 9, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. Judith A. Wilkie, grand conductress, will conduct the chapter’s official visitation.
All Eastern Star members are welcome. Refreshments will be served in the dining hall after the meeting.
Mended Hearts
LEWISTON – The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute is launching a chapter of Mended Hearts, a national nonprofit organization that supports heart disease patients and their families through a visiting program and monthly meetings.
Although Mended Hearts is a free patient-run support group, planners at the institute are helping to organize a core group of volunteers to get the program off the ground in the central and western Maine region.
Anyone interested in learning more about Mended Hearts should call CMHVI’s cardiac rehabilitation office at 795-8225 or e-mail [email protected].
A meeting will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in Young Wing first-floor conference room near the main entrance to Central Maine Medical Center. Mended Hearts is affiliated with the American Heart Association.

LEWISTON – The Nor’Easter Maine Chapter, M.T. Hummel Collector’s Club, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. New members and anyone interested in Hummels are welcome. LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Sept. 30 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Linda Arey and Linda Leotsakos; second, Martine Begert and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Fred Letourneau and Jeanine Kivus; fourth, Jim Flanagan and Claire Lyons.
Flight B winners were: first, Jim Flanagan and Claire Lyons; second, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner. Flight C winners were Jim Flanagan and Claire Lyons. A club appreciation game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the center.
