AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, 426 Washington St. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m.

There will be a food sale and members are requested to cook much in small packages. Cash donations are also acceptable, along with garden vegetables.

Visitors are welcome to all events, and membership is encouraged. Betty McCall was recently welcomed as a new member.

Tickets will be on sale for the Halloween party Oct. 22, price $4; Thanksgiving party Nov. 12, $7; and the Christmas party Dec. 9, $8. Tickets may be bought separately, or all three may be purchased with one check in the amount of $19.

There were 46 members present at the Sept. 24 meeting when President Virginia Houston presided. After being out ill, welcomed back were Kaye Hewison and Irving and Charlotte Grant.

Chaplain Pat Donohue led a moment of silence in memory of Bernice Parks, Eleanor Jewel and Doris Michael, members who recently died. Members then joined in repeating “The Lord’s Prayer.”

Trip Chairwoman Evelyn Sawin informed those who were attending the trip to Balsams Grand Resort at Dixville Notch, N.H., on Oct. 3 that the bus will leave the Post 31 American Legion Hall at 9 a.m.

Those having birthdays in September were recognized. Attendance prize winners were Anna Gavel and Shirley Huntley; pot of gold, Ellie Rolerson, Hope Telow and Virginia Howe; and mystery drawing, Theresa Greenleaf, Frances Robitaille and Aileen Harnden.

Members played bingo after the meeting and a bag lunch.
