As a concerned citizen and voter, I’ve taken it upon myself to look at the records of the two candidates running for District 13 State Senate, David Hastings and Lisa Villa.
Hastings talks about his thoughts on taxes, schools and energy. However, he was among those senators with the most missed votes during the last legislative session. His record includes a vote to deny increases in the minimum wage. He has also voted to deny pay increases to teachers.
How can he represent me, when he doesn’t represent himself for his elected office?
Villa, on the other hand, has proved to be an active official and citizen. As a selectman from Harrison, she has won a $50,000 Community Development Block Grant to establish regular bus service to the region. She also won a $30,000 CDBG for the Harrison Elementary School.
I am voting for a full time senator.
Bill Felts, Bridgton
