Square dancing
PARIS – The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will feature Lee Kennedy calling mainstream and plus for the square dancing, with Bernie Porter cueing easy and intermediate round dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Paris. Refreshments will be offered at intermission. Admission is $6 a person. Nondancers are invited to watch at no charge.
VFW supper
HARRISON – A public supper will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the VFW Hall, Route 35. Menu will include baked beans, casseroles, macaroni and cheese, salads, brown bread, pies and beverage. It is sponsored by Ronald G. St. John VFW Post Auxiliary 9328. Church yard sale
BETHEL – The West Parish Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, will hold its annual yard sale to benefit the church’s Smile Fund. The fund is dedicated to helping those in need of restorative dental work.
The “indoor yard sale” will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the church located on Church Street. There will be bargains from toys to tools.

Flea market
WEST PARIS – A flea market and craft fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the West Paris Grange Hall, Church Street, West Paris Village. The event will include a flea market, crafts and bake sales and luncheon. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. For table rental, call 674-3241. It is being sponsored by the West Paris Grange.
Church dinner
NORWAY – A classic New England boiled dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Second Congregational Church, 205 Main St. The public is Proceeds will benefit the church’s general fund.
AARP to meet
PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter, AARP, will meet on Monday, Oct. 13, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, Paris.
A noon luncheon will include oven fried chicken with all the fixings and apple pie with ice cream.
Cost is $6.50. Reservations are required by calling Thelma at 743-6124 by noon Friday, Oct. 10.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. followed by Finnish music with a kantela. Sarah Cummings-Ridge is the group organizer.
Bridge results
NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Oct. 3 in the Fare Share Building, Main Street, for a 4 club appreciation game.
Finishing first in Flight A were Richard Balian and Woody Mercier; second, Barbara Beegel and Les Buzzell; third, Nancy Farmer and Errol Libby; first in Flight B, Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens with Hazel Glazier and Kathy Feld; third, Bev Pelletier and Bev Dolan.
There will be another game at 9:15 a.m, Friday, Oct. 10, at the center. All bridge players are invited.
