RUSKIN, Fla. – Elverson L. Lovely, 86, of Ruskin, Fla., entered into rest Oct. 5. Originally from Mars Hills, he was born Dec. 21, 1921, and moved to Ruskin, Fla., in 1989, coming from Lisbon Falls.

He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, member of the Masonic Fraternity, past master of Ancient York Lodge, past most wise master H.H. Dickey Chapter Rose Croix and member of Kora Temple.

He was active in the United Methodist Church all his life and recently attended Ruskin UMC. He loved woodworking, volunteering with the Ruskin Emergency Squad and Ruskin Elementary, where his daughter, Mary Ann taught. He was a loving father and giving person who will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda McCaffery and Mary Ann Griffin (Richard); grandchildren, Bryan McCaffery, Amanda Bushong (Joe) and Scott Griffin (Pam); and great-grandchildren, Kylee Suralis, Jacob Bushong and Madison Griffin.

He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Mary.
