WATERVILLE – Paul (Cy) Morse Sr., 67, of Village Green Road, died Oct. 6, at home, after a long illness.

He was born in Waterville at Sister’s Hospital, April 2, 1941, the son of Cecil and Mabel Howard Morse. He was raised by his Aunt Eva and Uncle Elwood Durgin.

Cy worked for Mercer Paper Tube in South Gardiner for 25 years. He was a life-time member of the local union. He went to school in Turner and was a member of Christ Church Episcopal in Gardiner for 41 years.

He really enjoyed dancing, NASCAR, camping with family members, and hunting. His face would light up every time he saw his grandchildren and he loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Morse of Waterville; eight children, Paula Haskell of Lewiston, Penny Massey of New Hampshire, Pamela Jones of Lewiston, Patsy Morse of California, Pearl Edwards of Monmouth, Paul Morse Jr. of Houlton, Edward Morse of Waterville and Peggy Walton of Lewiston; sister, Lorraine Penley and husband, Maurice, of Auburn; a brother in Texas; 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a twin sister, Paula in 1995; and a brother, Linwood Morse in December 2007.
