CLEARWATER, Fla. – Denis (Dan) G. Bolduc of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Auburn, passed away to the Lord on Sept. 26, after a brief illness. His love for life, family and friends will always be part of our lives and give us strength and hope. His goodness to people will always be remembered as a source of inspiration for all who knew and loved him.
Dad spent the majority of his life in the Lewiston-Auburn area being born in 1939 and living in New Auburn for many years. He met his lovely wife, and our mother, Rose Marie (Jeannine) Dostie as a teenager and became married in 1957. He spent time in the Army National Guard in the early 1960s as a tank platoon leader during the Cuban missile crisis.
He and mom started their family in 1958, raising three sons, who still live in the area.
He was employed in his early years at Lown Shoe, eventually finding a more rewarding career in sales, working throughout central Maine with Pepsi Co., Giltex, Food Enterprise, G.T. Software and Sunshine Biscuit. He retired from Little Debbie snack cakes after helping to open up the state of Maine to their products. His love for people and his desire for perfection made him a natural salesman in which he was rewarded by meeting and nurturing many longtime friends and relationships.
He taught the family many things over the years. His deep love and concern for us, friends and extended family, taught us many valuable lessons which we will never forget. His constant positive attitude helped us through some difficult times and his desire for giving made all of us better people. We will miss him very much and we all have a new enlightened understanding of his impact on all that surrounded him.
He was a very active individual who enjoyed many things in life. He especially enjoyed dancing with mom where they took the dance floor with their grace and elegance. Dad enjoyed being part of his sons’ various sporting activities, starting with their love of baseball.
He was one of the founders of the New Auburn Little League in the 1960s and enjoyed being a coach and mentor to us through the years. He had a sharp eye at darts and won many awards while in Florida, over the last eight years. He enjoyed golfing, walking the beach and was especially fond of just tinkering around the house working on projects.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Jeannine; son, Michael and wife, Valerie, of New Gloucester; son, Richard of Augusta; and son, Randy of Auburn; he was blessed to have four wonderful grandchildren, Michael’s daughter Kelly Torres, her husband, Julien and their children, Dylan and Aiden of San Antonio, Texas, Mike’s son Daniel Bolduc of Honolulu, Hawaii, Richard’s son Chris Bonepant of Colorado, and Denis Bolduc of Lewiston and Randy’s daughters, Sara Bolduc of Falmouth, Mass., and Kimber Bolduc of Auburn; he also leaves behind two sisters, Lorraine Fortier of Manchester, N.H., and Claudette Amnott of Arizona.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Romeo Bolduc and Eva (Jalbert) Bolduc; and his brother, Raymond Bolduc.
We want to give a special thank-you to the staff of Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater for their professionalism and support they provided dad and the family. We also want to thank all of mom and dad’s friends at Avalon Park in Clearwater for their support and sincere love for dad. We want to express our thanks to the Guy Dostie Funeral Home for their acts of kindness and support for the family during this difficult time.
