Incident Report Statistics

Between Monday, Sept. 27, at 6 a.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6 a.m., patrol officers responded to 100 complaints.

Assault

On Sept. 28 at 12:10 a.m., resident reported being assaulted on Cumberland Street by an unknown suspect. Under investigation.

On Oct. 2, at 8:55 p.m., resident reported her juvenile son was assaulted by another juvenile. Suspect juvenile threw a brick and it struck her son in the mouth. Juvenile was seen at Rumford Hospital and complainant will make contact with parent of suspect juvenile.

Domestic Assault

On Sept. 28 at12:30 a.m., Chelsea Freeman, 18, of Rumford, was charged with domestic assault following an incident on on Holyoke Avenue

On Oct. 1 at 12:20 a.m., Ryan Hartford, 22, of Rumford, was charged with domestic assault following an incident on Franklin Street.

Burglary

On Sept. 30 at 4:10 p.m., an Erchles Street resident reported someone broke a window in her house and stole $50. The incident is under investigation.

On Oct. 1 at 6:27 p.m., Tony Jodrey, 39, of Rumford was charged with burglary and attempted theft of drugs on Virgin Street.

Criminal Mischief

On Sept. 28 at 11:24 a.m., a Lincoln Avenue resident reported damage to their lawn by an unknown motor vehicle. Estimated damage $300.

Criminal Trespass

On Sept. 29 at 3:47 p.m., Franklin Street resident reporting an unwanted subject. Officer arrived and advised the subject to leave and warnings were issued.

On Sept. 30 at 5:30 p.m., report of juveniles trespassing on the playground of Rumford Elementary School after hours. Officer responded and juveniles had left prior to his arrival.

On Oct. 2 at 2:02 p.m., Pine Street resident reporting an unwanted subject threatening her over a civil issue. Officer arrived and issued the subject a warning.

Disorderly Conduct

On Sept. 28 at 1:14 a.m., Dylan Blais, 29, of Peru was charged for being too loud in front of a Rumford bar and refusing to heed a warning to be quiet.

Explosive Complaint

On Sept. 30 at 10:04 a.m., officer responded to Mountain Valley High School in response to a note found regarding a bomb threat. The school was checked and no threat found. Incident is under investigation.

Operating Under Influence

On Sept. 27 at 10:55 p.m., Michael Petrie, 26, of Rumford was charged after being spotted acting suspiciously while parked on Swain Road.

Sex Offender

James Anderson, 38, has moved back to Rumford and has a 2006 conviction for sexual abuse of a minor.

Theft

On Sept. 29 at 1:46 p.m., resident reporting her purse was stolen the previously night at a Rumford establishment. She located the purse empty outside over an embankment. She is missing her cell phone and $24 in cash.

On Oct. 1 at 4:25 p.m., a Spruce Street resident reporting a digital camera valued at $130 and books of checks stolen. Victim reports two checks written for $60. Case under investigation.

On Oct. 3 at 1:28 p.m., a Rumford resident reported forgetting her three $100 cell phones at Hosmer Field. She returned to retrieve them and found one damaged and the other two missing.

On Oct. 4 at 1:32 a.m., Timothy Jacques, 23, of Rumford was charged with theft after failing to pay a $4 cab fare.

On Oct. 6 at 8 p.m., a business reported one of its employees had $19 taken out of her locker. Incident under investigation.
