I am sick, tired, pessimistic and maybe even unpatriotic.

Sick of being taxed locally and by the state (wants more money with Question 1) and the federal government (wasting billions of dollars on wars that can’t be won) while the taxpayers foot the bills.

Tired of listening to “I approve this message” and each candidate bashing the other. Do we really need a two-party system when there are numerous factions within each side? Do we need multi-million dollar conventions to elect puppets? And when things go bad, the sickening mantra of “Let’s forget about party biases and come together” turns my stomach.

Unpatriotic when I think history will record George W. Bush as one of the worst presidents. It’s the fault of the voters (not mine, by the way) for the eight disastrous years.

Pessimistic about economic recovery when top executives have millions of dollars in houses, boats, cars, etc., while investing other people’s money in “greedy” stocks, bonds and businesses.

Is the bailout good or bad?

People who invested in medium or high risk futures have gambled their money away and now want to be bailed out to the tune of $7,000 per taxpayer.

First, confiscate all assets of the executives who caused the dilemma, so they can be “one of us.”

If the bailout doesn’t work, will people be better or worse off?

Who is going to stop this trend?

Drastic change is necessary.

George A. Ferguson, Sabattus
