Auburn – Anita D. Giard, 70, formerly of 440 Minot Ave., in Auburn, and 10 Peter Blvd., in Lewiston, passed away Friday afternoon, Oct. 10, at Clover Manor with family by her side and in her heart.
She was born in Lewiston on April 7, 1938, the youngest daughter of Alcide and Melina (Nadeau) Pelletier. She was educated in local schools, graduated from Lewiston High School and remained a lifelong resident of this community. She worked for many years in local shoe shops and as a private caregiver until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Holy Family prayer group, Holy Family choir, Holy Family Sisters of Solidarity, Lewiston senior citizens, Covenant 50 and Horizon 55. Among her favorite pastimes were enjoying the company of family and friends through laughter, song and socializing. She was a loving, devoted and hardworking mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves a daughter, Michelle Giard Draeger and husband, Scot Draeger, of Hampton, N.H.; a son, Denis Giard and fiancée, Dawn Jean Zelma, of Sabattus; four grandchildren, Rachelle, Sarah and Matthew Giard and Sofia Giard Draeger; a sister, Collette Berube of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Laurette Parent and Muriel Custeau; and three brothers, Albanie, John and Roland Pelletier.
