MECHANIC FALLS – The Maine Country Music Association will hold its 26th annual Country Music Awards Show Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Silver Spur Club. Association members have been casting sealed votes for winners over the past several months.

The event will run from 1 to 5 p.m. at the club at 272 Lewiston Road. Many Maine country artists will perform throughout the afternoon. Twenty performance awards and special honor awards will be presented.

Well-known country music personality Burt Truman of Hallowell will act as master of ceremonies. Country music personalities and former MCMA award winners will be presenters.

The first awards show was held in Portland in 1983.

Tickets, $5, will be available at the door.

MCMA is the oldest country music organization in Maine, established in 1977, and is primary sponsor of the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum located in the lower level of the Silver Spur Club. The museum will be open for the day.
