CANTON – Ida M. MacDougall, 97, died Monday, Oct. 13, at Victorian Villa Boarding Home in Canton. She was a resident of Middle Avenue in Mexico.

Born in Livermore Falls on Jan. 30, 1911, she was a daughter of Angus and Mary (Cormier) Tremblay. She was a graduate of Mexico High School and Farmington State Teachers College with a masters’ degree in education.

She was a school teacher for Kimball School in Mexico where she retired as principal. She was a member of the Maine Teachers’ Association and the National Teacher’s Association.

She was married in Mexico in October 1955 to the late C. Spurgeon MacDougall who died March 8, 1966, in Rumford.

Survivors include a step son, Allan MacDougall of Avon Park, Fla.; a sister, Irene Austin of Auburn; many step grandchildren; and a special friend, Mary Blouin, of Rumford.
