FRYEBURG – The Central Maine Medical Center College of Nursing and Health Professions will host an informational session regarding its associate degree nursing education program on Thursday, Oct. 16, at Fryeburg Family Medicine.

The college offers a two-year, associate degree registered nurse program. Advanced placement is available to licensed practical nurses and paramedics.

The session, which will cover the application process, admission requirements, curriculum requirements and more, will begin at 6 p.m. at Fryeburg Family Medicine, 253 Bridgton Road.

Chinese auction

BUCKFIELD – The Sumner Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will host a Chinese auction Saturday, Oct. 18, at Buckfield High School. Viewing will begin at 11 a.m. and the auction will start at 1 p.m. There will be refreshments for sale, a 50/50 drawing and grab bags. Proceeds will go toward the helipad fund.

Women to meet

PARIS – The Christian Women United will meet Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the First Congregational Church of South Paris. A luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m.

The entertainer will be Ed Gabrielsen of Norway. The program will feature songs and hymns sung by Gabrielsen, accompanied on a wind instrument called a harmonium. Those who have not been contacted and would like to make a reservation may call Pearl Anderson at 743-5724.

Volunteers needed

WEST PARIS – The Tri-Town Auxiliary is looking for volunteers who could donate time and other capabilities to help strengthen the group. Anyone interested may call 674-2346 between 4 and 8 p.m.

Harvest supper

BETHEL – A public harvest supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Alder River Grange, East Bethel. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 13. There will also be a bake sale.

Heritage buffet

WEST PARIS – The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will hold its semi-annual public buffet at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St. The meal will feature both Finnish and American foods. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.

Society speaker

HEBRON – The Hebron Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the town office. Robert Swift will speak on the 200 years of the Packard family in Hebron Center. The public is invited.

Church supper

SUMNER – The Congregational Church of East Sumner, UCC, will have a baked chicken supper at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. It is the monthly First Saturday Supper. Donations will benefit Pilgrim Lodge scholarships for the church youth. For more information, call Peggy Bragg at 388-2074.

Craft fair

CPR classes

NORWAY – The Family Birthplace at Stephens Memorial Hospital has announced it will offer infant CPR classes from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturdays, Nov. 8, Jan. 24, April 25, July 25 and Oct. 24, in the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Building at the hospital. Classes are free.
