LEWISTON – Kathleen Demers, coordinator of the BookReach Early Literacy Program of the Auburn and Lewiston public libraries, will be the guest speaker at the Holy Cross Seniors meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, in the church hall.

BookReach, through its volunteers, seeks to bring storytimes to preschool children in licensed home-based childcares of the twin cities.

Demers, who has been involved in education for many years, has an interest in helping children develop a love for language, and she has shared the interest with others through the BookReach program.

After the meeting, Lorraine Ouellette on the accordion, will lead an old familiar game, “Name that Tune.” There will be prizes for the first person to identify each tune.

All seniors of the area, as well as guests and those interested, are invited.

A social will follow and a light lunch will be served.
