WILTON – Owners of the Comfort Inn & Suites are seeking site approval to build a parking lot across routes 2 and 4 from the inn to accommodate large trucks and possibly vehicles with snowmobile trailers.
Planning Board members will review the plan during their meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Town Office.
Sean Lafrance, an owner of the inn owned by Lafrance Hospitality Co., said they want to build a 200- by 100-foot gravel parking lot to accommodate large trucks that cannot maneuver in the inn’s parking lot.
Buses can get around in the parking lot, he said.
“We don’t anticipate it being used every day, probably not even every week, just on occasion,” Lafrance said.
They also need to get a Maine Department of Transportation permit to put in a lot.
The inn, the company’s first Maine venture, opened in June.
Currently there are no plans in place to get visitors safety across the highway to their destination, but if it is an issue, Lafrance said, they will consider appropriate action.
Planning Board members will also consider Carrie Lancaster’s application seeking a use permit to operate a hair salon as a home occupation at 293 Munson Road, according to the agenda.
