As the last few weeks of our highly anticipated November 2008 election fly by it’s crunch time for the citizens of America to choose which candidate they will cast their vote for in the final count. As eligible voters discuss the pros and cons of both Barack Obama and John McCain a different age group is blossoming with curiosity as they read polls, watch debates, hear gossip, and research the beliefs of both senators in the presidential race that will win over the country.

Teenagers have been turning to our diplomatic society and have become slightly intrigued by the controversy regarding the presidential election as well as the picks for V.P. It’s interesting to see how deeply they are involved with this even though for some, the privilege to vote is still suspended for further years until the proper age is met.

I’ve seen stickers, buttons, signs, and posters promoting one senator in the race or the other. I’ve heard strong arguments about the latest political news in classrooms and hallways. Everywhere I go, someone wants to trash my Obama 08′ button or get one themselves.

The opinions of these young adults are defiant and these are the very opinions that are vital to upcoming elections every four years that matter. The more certain teens are today about how they feel about a specific situation and the more comfortable they are voicing their opinion concludes in greater leaders for our future.

It’s fabulous that some teens think that Sarah Palin would be unbelievably clueless and that others would deeply defend that she’d do terrific in office. It’s the opinion that counts and the opinion that deserves to be shared with the rest of the world.

With all the talk of our first potential African American president and our first woman vice, has erupted in teens everywhere and has triggered them to spiral into a mesh of opinions and beliefs.

So what if no one does a better impersonation than Tina Faye? Or that Barack Obama successfully knocked Hilary Clinton out of the race? Without these voices, that are spoken and ideas that are thought the United States would have never evolved into such a bold democracy government, by the people and for the people.

Choose whom you think is worthy of your support through this powerful time in American History, and say what you believe. Trust me. We are all listening.
