Ever wonder what the Boosters Club at Lisbon High School actually does? The LHS Boosters support all athletes during all three seasons. The Boosters raise most of their money by selling Lisbon apparel and running the Snack Shack at all of the games. Boosters support the teams by using the money raised to buy equipment and items not included in the schools’ budget. At the end of the school year, members of the Boosters hold a Sports Banquet for all athletes who participated in a Lisbon High School sport.
The co-presidents of the Boosters for this year are Robin Tupper and Aline Strout. I got a chance to meet with Robin Tupper at LHS’s Open House held on Thursday, September 11. Mrs. Tupper wanted everyone to know “Becoming a Booster member is easy! Just come to a meeting or sign up to help out at any of our events. It’s fun and benefits our LHS athletes!” Our next event is a craft fair on Saturday, December 6th from 9:00 to 3:00 in the café at the high school.
This year the Boosters Club plan to mix it up a bit and try out some new fundraisers. A Chili/Chowder/Chocolate Challenge is planned for February and a Comedy Night is planned for March. I’ve experienced first hand how hard everyone in the Booster Club works to achieve these goals because I am an athlete at Lisbon High School. The next Boosters meeting is on Tuesday, October 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the library at the high school. FMI contact Robin Tupper at [email protected].
