CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch says a National Guardsman killed in action in Afghanistan served his nation with dignity, courage and honor.
Lynch said Cpl. Scott Dimond of Franklin was a hero who sacrificed protecting his country. Lynch said his thoughts and prayers are with Dimond’s family.
The 39-year-old Dimond died Monday of injuries from an improvised explosive device.
He was traveling in a military convoy that was attacked.
