The Phillip W. Sugg Middle School welcomes Heather Wilmot; new literacy specialist to their staff. Mrs. Wilmot has been teaching for seven years, three of those years at Lisbon’s new elementary school, the Lisbon Community School which had opened the year before she arrived. Before teaching at L.C.S. Mrs. Wilmot taught at the Frank Jewett School. One of the things Mrs. Wilmot enjoys most about teaching is the ability to impact the lives of her students and to help them become more capable and literate members of society.
In 2001 Mrs. Wilmot graduated from St. Joseph’s Collage, and is now finishing her Masters Degree at the University of New England. Her degree in literacy gives her the ability to help students improve their literacy skills from Kindergarten through the eighth Grade. Though it is only the beginning of school, Mrs. Wilmot already knows that it is going to be a great year.
