NORWAY – Jesse Logan Cottingham of Otisfield was a student on the Vermont Semester with Kroka Expeditions last winter. Along with nine other high school students, he lived outside for six months, hand crafting tools and equipment, following the footsteps of travelers in a time gone by.
Cottingham will present a narrated slide show at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Norway Memorial Library. He will share his perspective on what it means to have an impact on this earth and what it is like to be a young person, striving to live closer to the land in this time of technology.
He will also exhibit handmade tools and crafts that were essential to his survival, including a knife, brown ash pack basket, and a bow drill fire set. Questions and discussion time will follow.
