The River Valley Technology Center, the River Valley Growth Council and the River Valley Chamber of Commerce are proud to present another great Business Lunch and Learn opportunity. This month’s topic is: “Starting Your Small Business.”

The seminar will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the River Valley Technology Center, 60 Lowell Street, Rumford. The cost is $10 and includes your lunch. River Valley Chamber of Commerce members pay only $8. Pre-payment is required; there will be no refunds issued. This pre-business workshop includes discussion on the basic qualities of entrepreneurs, defining a business plan, basics of marketing, and introduction to business financial planning.

The presenter is: Rose Creps, Maine SBDC

Rose Creps has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Global Business Administration both from Southern New Hampshire University. She previously worked as a financial consultant and an accounting manager. Aside from her financial expertise, she has significant experience in training and education. Rose joined AVCOG in September 2007 providing business counseling services through the Small Business Development Center program. Counseling includes business/market planning, financial forecasting and cash flow budgeting, internal management, loan packaging and workshop/seminar production.

The Lunch and Learn Seminars’ purpose is to provide information to entrepreneurs, start-ups and existing businesses in an affordable way. Anyone can gather resources and information for long-term success. In addition, the seminars are intended to facilitate networking among businesses or entrepreneurs in similar activities.
