FARMINGTON – Police charged a 13-year-old Wilton boy with terrorizing Wednesday after he was caught showing fellow students a message on his school laptop indicating there was a bomb in the building, Lt. Jack Peck said.
The boy made a stick-figure character on the computer and had the words coming from it: “I am going to kill everyone because I have a bomb,” Peck said.
A teacher discovered the student showing other students the message on his laptop and alerted administrators, who then called police, he said.
The message was discovered just before regular dismissal time. Students were evacuated from the building and went home, Peck said.
The boy was released to family members. Peck met with his parents when they arrived home from work, he said.
The teen is scheduled to appear Nov. 19 at juvenile court in Farmington.
