Lewiston – Elizabeth A. Finnan, 88, of Richards Ave, Mexico, and longtime resident of Rangeley Place, Rumford, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at CMMC, with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Mexico, on June 11, 1920, a daughter of James J. and Mary E. (Peters) Kelley. She was educated in Mexico and Rumford schools.
She married Peter J. Finnan on Feb. 3, 1937. He passed away on July 27, 1956.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and was affectionately known as Nana. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting and crafting special keepsakes for her family. She also loved spending time with her family and many friends and her beloved cat, Rascal.
Survivors are her three daughters, Shirley A. Martel and husband, Roland E., of Rumford, Joanne Hansen and husband, Earle, of Mexico and Carolyn Riley and husband, Timothy, of Clinton; a son-in-law, Rex Sinclair Sr. of Mexico; 13 grandchildren, Nancy Bennett, Terri Larrabee, Peter Martel, Paul Martel, Rex Sinclair Jr., Heidi Fraser, Stephen Hansen, Amy Jo Williamson, Patti Anne Belanger, Patrick Finnan, Corey Finnan, Kerrie Moody and Ryan Riley; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Peter J. Finnan; and a daughter, Patty Sinclair; five sons, Robert, John, Albert, Peter and Jimmy Finnan; a granddaughter, Jennifer Riley; three brothers, Walter, George and Jimmy Kelley; and three sisters, Mary Frederick, Helen Hotham and Margaret Arsenault.
